Mena Hardy is regarded as one of Canada's top female rock vocalists. Her professional career began at the age of five when she recorded back up vocals with her father, Robert Hardy (classical composer known for The Fifth Day Suite) .
By the age of 13, she started playing guitar and progressed to bass, playing with bands throughout high school. While at University in Montreal, Mena (formerly Shannon) gained notoriety as a songwriter performing in a folk rock duo called Allenbright and Hardy.
With influences like Janis Joplin and Joe Cocker, her style is a fusion of Motown and Classic Rock. Mena is currently performing solo as a an acoustic act, mainly around Montreal and Eastern Ontario.
